Come out to the Sappington House on Dec. 6 and explore 1.5 miles of Grant’s Trail lit up with hundreds of glowing luminaries. Each luminary will honor a veteran and can be sponsored by individuals for $5 each through Dec. 1 at www.GiveandGlow.info. Proceeds will benefit the local chapter of USA Cares, which helps military families in crisis. The event will also feature tours of the historic Sappington House; bonfires; holiday musical entertainment by local Girl Scout carolers; complimentary hot chocolate and spiced cider, courtesy of the Barn Restaurant; complimentary cookies by Companion Banking Company. The Crestwood Fire Department will have a truck on site for photos and tours. Members of the 620th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion will also be on-hand with a few of their armored vehicles, and children are invited to climb into the vehicles and take photos with the soldiers. |
